Lesson 5 - Mobile Phones


Think of the first mobile phone you ever owned. Describe the way it looked, it's size, and what functionality it had.

In today's lesson we are learning to:


  • understand that technology like mobile phones can have positive and negative impacts on society.
  • know what information can be extracted using a smart phone.

Tasks:

Using this workbook answer the following:

15 years ago it was unheard of for secondary school children to own a mobile phone. Adults who had phones could only make calls or send text messages (SMS) on their phones.

  • Explain how smart phones have affected the way we can communicate and socialise with one another?
  • what impacts has this technology had on our well being?
  • what information can you extract from your phone?
