Welcome to Year 9 ICT

There are some changes that you will have noticed. Firstly there is a new network, which means that you will not be able to log in until your teacher gives you your new password. Make sure that you remember to change your password to something only you know.

In today's lesson you are learning to:

• Be able to log in and update your eportfolio.
• Be able to describe your online life.

Tasks:

1. Take a look around the new desktop and see if you can open your emails (hint: try finding an application called 'Outlook')
2. See if you can access all your documents.
3. Next locate your eportfolio. You need to share this with your new teacher and update your details on the front page.
4. Once you have completed the above tasks create a new Google Presentation by clicking on Robert Clack Apps and then Create > Presentation.
5. Name your presentation 'My Online Life' and think about how you use the internet and online services in your daily life. 

Homework:

Monitor how often you use the internet between now and next lesson by writing how many minutes/hours you are online for, and the names of the main sites you are using.

Hint: This may be in school, at home, on a console, smart phone or computer!
